The hand-crafted “Painter Ring” is a jewelry design by Studio Hash made in Los Angeles, CA. This designer ring is inspired by Islamic architectural motifs and modernist abstract painting. From Persian mosaics to Western abstractionist painting, the “Painter Ring” features a tactile acrylic finish that lets the wearer connect to art everywhere they go. Rings are all produced using an 8mm polished stainless steel band coated with a one-of-a-kind acrylic painting. These are highly limited (one ring is made for each ring size).
Artist Statement:
Studio Hash is dedicated to exploring the intersections of art and everyday life.
The idea of art being functionless always felt like a problematic concept in the art world. I have mad respect for paintings and contemporary art, but I feel that sometimes there’s more to gain from the thinking, discipline, and intention behind an artwork than there is from the physical piece.
I try to use art as a lens to frame the world and my daily life. It is a mental state that encourages a heightened focus on one’s actions and how they communicate or interface with the world.
These “painter rings” are exercises in wearable art. I like the idea of keeping a momento on my body to remind me to think openly & creatively as i navigate my everyday tasks.
These unique paintings are hand made in Los Angeles and function as both stylish jewelry and collectable abstract art.”
